What an estate cleanout should actually solve
A true estate cleanout is more than removing unwanted contents. Families may need to locate personal documents, preserve photographs and keepsakes, identify saleable items, coordinate donations, clear remaining contents and leave the property ready for its next step.
Handled Homes is designed to manage those pieces as one project. We begin with the family’s priorities, separate belongings by destination, recover value where practical, coordinate donation and removal, and finish with a cleared home.
Our cleanout process
1. Understand the home and the family’s priorities
We start with a free home assessment. We learn what needs to stay, what family members still need to review, the condition of the property and what the next deadline looks like.
2. Sort before we remove
Personal papers, photographs, keepsakes and obvious valuables are treated differently from ordinary household contents. Potentially valuable items are reviewed before anything is discarded.
3. Sell what makes sense to sell
Items with realistic resale value can be marketed through the channels that fit them best. Sale proceeds are documented and credited back against the project fee.
4. Donate useful belongings
Usable items that are not practical to sell can be routed to donation when appropriate, reducing waste and giving families another option besides disposal.
5. Clear the remainder and prepare the home
We coordinate removal of the remaining contents and leave the property ready for sale, renovation, move-in or closing.
One project. One point of accountability.
Instead of hiring an estate-sale company, donation service, junk hauler and cleanup crew separately, the family has one team responsible for moving the house from full to finished.
How pricing works
Handled Homes uses an all-inclusive project fee based on the size, contents, condition and complexity of the home. Proceeds recovered from items we sell are credited back to you. Your net cost is the project fee minus the sale proceeds recovered.
Who this service is for
We commonly help executors, adult children, trustees, heirs, senior homeowners and families managing an inherited property. We can also work with families who live outside Utah and need a local team to coordinate the project.
Handled Homes provides home-content and transition services. We do not provide legal, tax, appraisal or probate advice.
